Mission TripsOne of the best ways we know to do mission is through short term mission trips. Each year the church sponsors such trips to places such as Alaska, Mexico, and Turkey. In addition, various church members have, through other mission agencies, traveled to places such as Iraq, Panama, India, and even Hollywood to carry out relational mission work.
PartnershipsFPC is in partnership with many mission agencies who are engaged in worldwide missions. Chief among those is our own denomination, which sends missionaries to dozens of countries. We have also partnered with Frontiers, Lutheran Refugee Resettlement, and Companeros in Mission to work for the spread of the gospel across the globe. In 2006 the church gave over $35,000 to these mission partnership agencies.
Special OfferingsWe believe in a unified budget (one major annual appeal to fund all church activities and ministries). There are, however, several special approved denominational offerings taken at FPC each year to help fund mission work: One Great Hour of Sharing , Pentecost, Peacemaking, and Joy Gift. In 2006 the church received over $8,000 in combined giving to these special offering causes. |
